Roadmaster Tow Bars RM-048-2 Review- Video

Roadmaster Tow Bars RM-048-2 Review

Today we're going to be taking a look at part number RM-048-2, and this is the Road Master High Low Hitch Adapter. Now one of the leading causes of tow system failure is an out of level tow bar. That's simply when a tow bar is at an upward or downward slope. An accessory like this will allow you to connect your tow bar at a safe level height. It's going to allow for proper positioning of your tow bar system. It can be used in either the drop or rise position. Right here it's in the rise position and we can simply flip it over, that way it can be used in the drop position as well. more

We'll now use one of Diversi-Tech's 2 inch locking aluminum ball mount, which we will slide into the sleeve and line up the holes of the ball mount into the holes furthest away from the vehicle's sleeve. more

Curt Hitch Adapters - Hitch Extender - C45796 Review

Today we'll be reviewing part number C45796. This is the Curt Extender for 2 inch receivers providing 18 inch extension. Has its own capacity of 3,500 pounds with a towing weight capacity of 350 pounds. Has a nice black powder coat finish which is going to help us stand up against rusting corrosion and it's going to fit your 2 inch by 2 inch hitch receiver, has a nice solid shank here on the back, it's not hollow, so this extender is very durable. Just keep in mind that when using the hitch extender, it will reduce your hitch's overall capacity by 50%. This extender is going to extend your trailer hitch receiver opening out from the rear view vehicle to avoid any of those obstacles that you need to clear. You're also going to be able to gain some extra clearance for your trailer and you're going to be able to mount your hitch route accessories without having to remove your rear mount and spare tire. Now to go over a few basic measurements, we have an overall length of about 32 3/4 of an inch. The distance from the center of 1 pin hole to the other is 18 inches, so that's where we get our 18 inch extension from. more

Reese Hitch Adapters - Hitch Reducer - 38735 Review

Today we'll be reviewing part number 38735. This is the Reese Super Titan Receiver Adapter, a 3" to 2" Reducer Sleeve. This reduced the 3" opening on the Super Titan hitch down to a standard 2" opening, making this an ideal adapter to haul those 2" by 2" accessories that you have, whether it's a bike rack or a hitch mounted cargo carrier. This is going to measure 9-5/8" in overall length. It's going measure 3-1/4" tall by 3-1/4" in width. Due to the shorter extension, it does retain tongue weight capacity. This gives us a gross towing weight of 12,000 pounds, with a maximum tongue weight of 1,200 pounds. more

Reese Hitch Adapters - Hitch Extender - RP11006 Review

Today we'll be taking a look at part #RP11006 this the Reese Hitch Extender for 2inch by 2inch trailer hitch receiver. It's going to provide is with an 18 inches of extension, so this is going to help you clear any of those obstacles when making a sharp turns when towing. We're going to get our extension measurement, by measuring from one pin hole to the other, and we're measuring from the center of our rear to the center of our front pinhole. That's going to give us a measurement right at 18 inches. This also features a step that's going to provide easy access to those hard to reach places, it's going to be ideal for owners with a truck helping you still gain access to that truck bed. So you just place your step on to the mounting brackets, and then you'd install your mounting hardware. In here what you have is you have 4 screws, so you would place a screw inside each bolt, and then you'd install the lock nut, and then at that time, you'd also take the appropriate sized wrench or socket wrench and tighten each one down to increase the amount of stability, and to increase the safety. This is going to provide is with a gross towing weight of 4000 pounds, and a maximum tongue weight of 400 pounds, and also when using a weight distribution system, the gross towing weight is going to increase to 6500 pounds, and the tongue weight will increase to 650 pounds. Just keep in mind that there is a limiting factor, and it's going to be the capacity of your hitch. more
